RECIPE
Ingredients:
1 1/2 Pounds Salmon — fresh or completely defrosted frozen
1 Cup water
1/3 Cup soy sauce
4 Teaspoons light brown sugar
1 Tablespoon Honey
1 Teaspoon ground ginger
1 Teaspoon crushed or finely minced garlic
1 Teaspoon sesame seed oil
1 Tablespoon sesame seeds
Canola non-stick spray
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees with the rack in the middle. A totally preheated oven is the secret to great baked fish.
Prepare teriyaki sauce. In a small bowl stir in: Water, soy sauce, light brown sugar, and honey. Crush or finely minced garlic. Remove skin from ginger and finely mince. Add sesame seed oil.
NOTE: If you have the time and it’s your preference, you can marinate the salmon in the teriyaki sauce for a couple of hours in your refrigerator. If you like to taste the teriyaki sauce and the fish to their fullest, you can skip this step.
Spray a baking pan with non-stick spray. Place the salmon in the pan. Cover with teriyaki sauce, but leave a little for dipping the fish or to put on a side of rice.
Place salmon in oven and cook for fifteen (thin piece of salmon) to twenty (thick piece of salmon) minutes.
