How to Fry an Egg
1 Teaspoon butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat frying pan over 1/4 heat for one minute. Coat the bottom of the pan with butter and carefully crack the egg into the pan.
The secret to a great fried egg: Leave it alone. Don’t pick at it, which could break the yolk. Let it fry slowly. Then, when the yolk and white are cooked through, flip it. If you want it on the runny side. Let the white cook through and don’t flip it, serve it.
When the egg white is cooked through and the yolk is slightly cooked – takes about two minutes — carefully slip your spatula under the egg and flip it. It should be cooked all the way through in 1 ½ to 2 minutes.
