Sausage Omelet Easy Recipe

4 Eggs

1/2 Cup browned sausage meat (Ideally, use the Step By Step Chef’s “Easy Homemade Sausage Patties Recipe” — but store-bought is fine, too.)

1/4 Cup minced sweet red pepper

1/4 Cup minced sweet onion

1/4 Cup shredded cheese

2 Teaspoons butter

1 Tablespoon water

Brown your sausage. Mince sweet red pepper and sweet onion and add to browned sausage. Preheat small frying pan over medium heat and melt 1 of the teaspoons of butter to coat bottom of pan. Add the sausage mix and saute for five minutes — or until the red pepper and onion starts to turn translucent. Remove from heat.

Whisk eggs with tablespoon of water. Preheat a frying pan over just under medium heat. Melt the second teaspoon of butter and coat bottom of pan. Add the egg mixture. When the dark spots in the mixture start to turn white or yellow, a cooked-egg base has formed at the bottom of the pan.

Add the sausage mix evenly to half the omelet. Add the cheese to the other half. Cover for about five minutes — or until the egg on the cheese side appears cooked through, not runny. At this point, flip the cheese half over onto the sausage half.
